The Bulgarian soprano Krassimira Stoyanova has a sterling reputation among Munich’s opera fans and voice buffs. Ever since her Munich début, as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen, she has returned repeatedly to the stage of the State Opera.
But she has long been a familiar figure with the Munich Radio Orchestra, with whom she has released four CDs with a mainly Italian and Slavic repertoire, and she has also appeared at the Salzburg Festival.
Following her Richard Strauss programme in the 2019 Sunday Concerts, the Munich RO is now looking forward to accompanying this internationally acclaimed soprano for an entire season as their artist-in-residence! She will present an evocative evening devoted to the riches of Italian melody, as well as a concert rendition of the tragic young bride Anna in Puccini’s very first opera, Le villi.
