Spiritual music of our time – resounding in the spectacularly modern nave of the Herz-Jesu-Kirche.
in Munich.
Time and again the operas of the 19th and early 20th centuries show love coming to grief on the shoals of politics, family feuds, intrigues or personal failings. The Italian composers Bellini, Verdi and Puccini and the Frenchman Camille Saint-Saëns knew precisely how to cloak such stories in gripping music. The Munich Radio Orchestra will present four works by these famous composers, all worthy of receiving accurate hearings in concert. With star-studded casts, of course!
