George Gershwin did not even live to be forty years old, yet he gave his country an American music of its own that encompassed literally all styles: from classical , opera and salon to films and musicals. How did he manage that? He composed – melodies, immortal melodies!
The Thilo Wolf Jazz Quartet stands for authentic, intelligent, finely delineated swing, performed with passion and enthusiasm. Together with the Munich Radio Orchestra, also a specialist in cool sounds and pushing musical boundaries, the quartet plays immortal Gershwin melodies with conductor Enrique Ugarte, who has already performed swing, jazz and other “blue note” repertory with the orchestra.
